Competence Centre for Data Literacy QUADRIGA

Quadriga Logo

QUADRIGA is the Berlin-Brandenburg Competence Centre for Data Literacy for Digital Humanities, Public Administration and Film Studies. It is supported by computer science and information science. The aim of Quadriga is to develop open educational resources for researchers at all career levels to enable them to work confidently with data.

QUADRIGA consists of three sub-projects that build on each other. They bring together different disciplines at the Berlin-Brandenburg research location. The Forschungsorte develop case studies on the data types moving image, text and table by identifying and providing relevant data sets, standards and methods. These are transformed into concrete, freely available educational resources in Lernorte, which can be used by researchers for further training in the field of data competence, regardless of discipline and time. In the Vernetzungsorte, Quadriga communicates the created OERs to the scientific disciplines and creates spaces for cooperation and exchange in order to meet the challenges of digital transformation in a competent, critically informed manner and to be able to help shape them.

The professorship of Digital History is involved in QUADRIGA in the Vernetzungsorte. Here, Philipp Schneider is deals with the exchange with the German-speaking digital humanities community in the evaluation of OERs and the transfer of project results into practical work in the humanities.
