Profile

Paolo Bozzi joined the Chair of Social and Economic History at Humboldt in 2019 as a pre-doc research assistant (wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter), while pursuing his PhD. In 2019, he received his M.A. in History from the University of Pisa, where he was also a student of the Scuola Normale Superiore. In 2018, he spent the spring semester at the University of Sheffield as an Erasmus exchange student, and in 2021, he visited the German Historical Institute in Rome for a research stay.

His research interests concentrate on the economic history of modern Italy, focusing on the history of public finance and taxation. Together with this, he is broadly interested in historical political economy, the history of money and inflation, the global 1970s, and the political and cultural history of modern Italy, especially in the republican period (1945-1992).
